DE Rogers pulls first offer

Offer No. 1 is in for Shelby (N.C.) Crest 2013 defensive end Dane Rogers. On Saturday, the 6-foot-3, 235-pounder pulled his first offer while on an unofficial visit.
"I got it on Saturday while I was at NC State's junior day," he said. "They brought me up to the head coach, Tom O'Brien and we were sitting around, talking and they talked about me joining the team. Then, they told me they were giving me my first offer.
"I wasn't expecting an offer. I was thinking it might be in April when they can talk to you more. It was surprising."

What was his take on the Wolfpack?
"I think it's a great school to go to, I guess they just wanted to get a head start which is a smart thing," he said. "I have no negative thoughts about NC State. They have everything you're looking for in their coaches and players. All of them seem cool and the academics seem great."
Rogers expects to take more visits soon.
"I talked to Coach Brooks at Clemson and I think I'm going down to their junior day next weekend. I'm also planning to go down sometime in February to Florida."
