Chesapeake (Va.) Deep Creek defensive end Darryl Tapp just took an official visit to Maryland. So did the 6-foot-3, 225-pounder enjoy his trip?
“It was tight,” he said. “The players were very close and I liked the way the staff had things organized and worked together. They were in a similar situation that Virginia is in this year and they came together and had an awesome season.

Tapp has a visit with Florida scheduled for Jan. 11, Virginia Tech on Jan. 18 and Virginia on Jan. 25.
“Virginia Tech has a huge edge because they’re close to home and I could succeed at defensive end or linebacker,” he said. “I like Florida and Maryland after that.”
