DE Newell has three favorites

Defensive end/tight end Kyle Newell is temporarily out of action with a minor injury, but recruiting hasn't slowed down one bit. What schools top his list?
"Right now my favorites are Virginia, Maryland and Tennessee," said Newell. "All three of those have called. I think all three schools have good football programs, and I think I could make a big impact before I'm a junior or senior. I'm also looking at Florida and Florida State."

Have all those schools offered Newell?
"All four except Florida have offered me," he said. "If they offer it will help them out, but I'm going to try to set up some official visits before I think about making a decision. If I do set up officials then I'll probably go to those five."
The 6-foot-5, 230-pound versatile prospect from Bethlehem (Pa.) Catholic runs the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds. He's missed some action of late with an injury, but doesn't expect to be out too much longer.
"I didn't play in our first game because I have a high ankle sprain. We lost, and I think I'm probably going to be out for one or two more games. I can't wait to get back out on the field, but we've got to be smart about it."
