DE Navarre gets second offer

Joppa (Md.) Joppatowne defensive end Jeremy Navarre has recently received his second offer. Navarre received his first offer from Maryland back in March. So who is in the mix now?
The 6-foot-4, 240-pound prospect earned all-state, all-metro and all-county honors as a junior. He was also named the Defensive Player of the Year in his county last season.

“About two weeks ago Penn State was down here and they offered me after the visit,” said Navarre. “Boston College, Temple, Buffalo, and Virginia Tech have also visited recently. Penn State and Maryland are at the top of my list because they’ve offered.”
What does Navarre like about his two leaders besides the written offer?
“At Maryland I really like the coaches there. The coaches are real nice and push you to be the best player you can be. The school itself is only an hour from home, so that’s a nice bonus for me,” Navarre explained. “Penn State has great coaches too. (Joe) Paterno came down to visit and he’s a real class act, a nice guy to talk to. The coaching staff is very important to me.”
Navarre also favors Virginia, Virginia Tech and Boston College, but may not wait too much longer to make a decision.
“I’d like to make a decision by the time the season starts, and if I’ve only got offers from Penn State and Maryland, I’ll decide between those two,” Navarre said. “The recruiting process is tiresome, and I feel I’ll know enough about those two schools to make a decision. I just want to find a place that I’ll be comfortable with over the next four or five years of my life. If I can that environment with a coaching staff I get along with, I’ll be happy.”
So far Navarre plans to camp at Maryland and Penn State, but may add camps to his list with more offers.
