DE McAndrew lands another Pac-10 offer

Glenbard West High School (Ill.) defensive end/tight end prospect Tom McAndrew (6-foot-5, 235 pounds) has landed his 8th scholarship offer this spring late last night, as the Arizona Wildcats and head coach Mike Stoops are the latest school to offer McAndrew.
"I just got off the phone with head coach Mike Stoops from Arizona," Tom McAndrew said. "We had a really good discussion, and before he hung up he told me that they are sending me a scholarship offer and that it will be in the mail on Thursday."

"I'm really excited about getting an offer from the Wildcats. Coach Stoops is really fired up about the football program at Arizona, and you can't help but get excited when you talk to him. Arizona is recruiting me as a defensive end."
"Things have progressed very well for me," Tom McAndrew said. "On Tuesday, Coach (Buddy) Teevens from Stanford made an in school visit, and my coach told me that he is very excited about recruiting me, and it was really nice of him to make an in school visit. Boston College as well as Arizona made in school visits over the last week."
"I'm just very happy with the offers I have at this point. As far as summer camps are concerned, I'm not sure yet if I'll camp anywhere, but if I do camp it will be to a school that has already offered me at this point. I'm still trying to sort all of the camp stuff out for now."
McAndrew has also been giving thought to when he'll begin to narrow down his favorite schools list. "I'm thinking about having a Top 5 schools listing before the start of the season. I'm going to focus on the schools that have already offered me a scholarship, but if any school comes in later I would gladly give them the same consideration as any school that has already offered me up to that point. I just need a place to start, and I also don't want to hold out for any particular school that hasn't offered me at that point."
Tom McAndrew has scholarship offers from Arizona, Illinois, Michigan State, Stanford, Boston College, Indiana and the University of Pittsburgh.
