DE McAndrew enjoys West Coast visit

Glenbard West High School (Ill.) defensive end/tight end prospect Tom McAndrew (6-foot-5, 235 pounds) was able to make a West Coast visit last weekend to Stanford. McAndrew talked about his Palo Alto experience as well as which colleges have made visits to his school.
"Boston College, Northwestern, Penn and Arkansas have already been in school according to me coach," Tom McAndrew said. "Iowa, Wisconsin and Stanford are also scheduled to make visits in-school shortly. Most of the mail I get claims that the coaches are all planning to stop into school during May."

McAndrew talked about his recent West Coast visit to Stanford. "It was incredible at Stanford. When you try to take everything into account, from the campus, the academics and the football program, Stanford is hard to match. I was there on a fun weekend, because it was Admit Weekend, and several of the kids who had been admitted to Stanford for next year were on campus. I also was able to see a spring practice as well as the Stanford spring game."
"I was also able to visit with several of the coaches at Stanford, and I got along very well with them, they all seem like really good guys and they also seemed very down to earth. I also was really impressed with the facilities. I was glad that I had a chance to see Stanford in person, and overall it was impressive."
So have any new schools started to show some recruiting interest in McAndrew? "My coach told me that both Miami (Fla.) and UCLA have called school and they requested some game film."
