DE Martin schedules official visits

Defensive end Jeremiah Martin out of Upper Marlboro (Md.) Gwynn Park has added a new offer. The 6-foot-1, 220-pounder's latest scholarship comes from the Big Ten and he is looking to take an official there.
"I picked up an offer from Michigan State in the last few days," he said. "I'd really like to play for them. They are definitely in my top three. They are a school I grew up watching and a lot of great athletes have come out of there. I think it most likely would be successful for me too. I'm planning to take an official there in January."

The other finalists for the Maryland prospect are Temple and Boston College.
"My plan is to go to Boston College on January 5th, Michigan State on January 12th and Temple on January 19th," he said. "Once I do all of those, then I'll look to commit right after the Temple trip."
What has made the Eagles and Owls finalists as well?
"I really like coach Keith Willis at Boston College. I know he may not be there and if he isn't that's possibly going to change a lot. He's one of the main reasons I'd go there," he said. "As for Temple, I'd be able to play and I'm used to that environment. They are in Philadelphia and I'm a city person. I like that there's a lot to do there."
Meanwhile, the two-star prospect maintains that Tennessee is still in the picture too.
"I'm still looking at Tennessee," he said. "I've visited them for unofficial visits and it's a good environment. Knoxville isn't as big as some of the other cities, but it's a decent town."
Does Martin have any favorites?
"It's still pretty wide open," he said. "Boston College was the one I was seriously considering, but now it's open and I'll see how these visits go."
