Skinny: Colvin is an exceptional wide receiver who has tremendous body control. He goes up and makes the super catch. Colvin is a courageous receiver who is fearless in rush hour traffic.
Colvin has what every great receiver needs, a pair of outstanding hands. He runs nice routes but what makes him dangerous to opponents is he is an extreme deep threat.
When Rivals.com first saw Colvin in Hawaii last September, he made catches that were reminiscent of the great hall famer for the Pittsburgh Steelers Lynn Swann. Colvin’s Godfather thought the same.
“I didn’t even know who Lynn Swann was,” Colvin said. “My Godfather went out and found some tapes on Swann. Swann was great.”
Does Colvin have an early favorite?
“My early favorite would be Oregon,” Colvin said. “I like the way the Ducks throw the ball and spread their offense. I also like the weather in Oregon.”
What does Colvin want in a school?
“The first thing I will look at is academics,” Colvin said. “Then I would like to play for an offense that features their wide receivers.”
As good as Colvin is already, he has tremendous upside potential. Rivals thinks that Colvin is one of the top wide receivers in the Golden State.
There is more to the Colvin story and we will give that to you later this week.
Let’s just say that this young man has overcome much heartbreak in his young life and has come through. He is an inspirational young man.
