De la Salle rolls again

Like Ol’ Man River, Concord (Calif.) De la Salle keeps rolling along. The Spartans beat San Leandro, Calif., last night 42-14 to win another championship and win their 139 straight football game in the process. There have been many heroes for De la Salle over the years and one of them this year in running back Maurice Drew (5-8, 195, 4.4).

Drew finished his season by rushing for over 1,500 yards and scoring 28 touchdowns.

Drew will start his visits in earnest this weekend when he will take a trip to Colorado. Drew has been compared in style to CU running back coach Eric Bieniemy.

Oregon who makes a living off of players like Drew will get a visit in January 10th and USC gets a trip on January 17th.

Drew is a thoughtful young man who wants to start his own business once his football days are over that will be a recreation center for kids after school.

Drew doesn’t have any favorites at this time.
