DE Johnson starts to take unofficials

Virginia Beach (Va.) Tallwood defensive end Chris Johnson holds a handful of offers from Division I programs. The 6-foot-4, 210-pounder is beginning to look at taking some visits this fall to check out a few schools.
"This weekend, October 6th I'm going up to Duke for an unofficial," he said. "I just want to go see the campus, check out the academics and more. I know they beat Northwestern earlier this year and they have a lot of potential. They are a young team."

Currently Duke is leading for Johnson due to the offer.
"Duke is my No. 1 right now since they've offered, but I'm going to try to get some interest from Maryland too," he said. "I'm looking at going up there in November and they will get back to me after the season."
Meanwhile, Johnson has added a new offer.
"I just got an offer from William & Mary," he said. "I'm still in touch with the Marshall coaches and Connecticut. They are impressed with how I'm playing, but need to see tape."
Throughout five games last week, the two-star prospect helped his team to a 2-3 record.
"The defense has really stepped up," he said. "I've done well, getting two sacks and forcing two fumbles. I've got a couple hurries and losses too."
