Size and Speed: McClover is 6-foot-4 and 245 pounds. He has been timed in the 40-yard dash at 4.6 seconds and he has a 37-inch vertical jump. He should have no problem qualifying with a 3.0 grade point average and a 20 on the SAT.
Honors: McClover was selected to the all-county team and second team all-state as a junior.
Statistics: McClover recorded a 100 tackles and 13 sacks as a junior.
Favorites: McClover has Miami listed as his early favorite followed by North Carolina State and Michigan State.
Skinny: Fort Lauderdale Dillard’s Stanley McClover is a wanted man. It’s not even May yet, and the standout defensive end is getting a boat-load of scholarship offers from coaches all around the country.
“Miami, Michigan State, Auburn, North Carolina State, Missouri, Florida, and Rutgers have offered,” McClover said. “Of those schools Miami is my favorite. I also like North Carolina State and Michigan State.”
His size and speed makes him a dangerous pass rusher, but what sets him apart is his desire to get to the ball and make plays.
“I don’t take plays off,” McClover said. “I’ll chase the ball-carrier 30 or 40 yards down the field to make the play. I don’t ever give up.”
McClover, who’s fully qualified, will be a very busy man this summer. He plans on attending football camps at Florida Atlantic, Michigan State, North Carolina State, Georgia, Louisiana State and Auburn.
