DE Hatcher enjoys trip to Notre Dame

This weekend defensive end Charlie Hatcher out of Hamilton, Ohio made the trek west to South Bend, Indiana. The 6-foot-4, 265-pounder visited Notre Dame for their spring game and had a good trip.
"It was a good visit," he said. "I went there and got to talk with coach Weis and Minter. Then we watched the team warm up and do the spring game. I had a good conversation with both coaches about the upcoming Nike Camp and they told me that they are planning to evaluate me and a few other ends some more before they offer, but they do like what they see of me on film. My perception of Charlie Weis is that he is a great coach and person. He is very easy to talk to."

Besides visiting with the coaches, Hatcher took in the game and atmosphere.
"The thing that really stood out to me was the environment and atmosphere there," he said. "Everyone was so excited from the coaches, players and fans. Of course they signed the No. 1 quarterback prospect Jimmy Clausen, so everyone was even a little bit more excited. It was still amazing to see the tradition and excitement, it was crazy there.
"I also took in the game and I can say it looks like they have a real good team next year. The offense is great and it looks like they'll have a defense to back it up. It was hard for me to see exactly what the defensive ends were doing, but they were quick and used their hands a lot. I am definitely very interested in being apart of the system if it's an option."
Over the next couple months, Hatcher will be busy attending the Louisville combine and Nike Camp at Ohio State. He plans to take in camps at Ohio State, Michigan and Michigan State.
Hatcher registered 62 tackles and nine sacks as a junior. He finished the year by being named to the all-Southern Ohio team.
