DE Has Six Offers

Omar Savage from Piscataway, N.J. is one of the top defensive players in the state of New Jersey and offers are quickly finding him. During the month of May, the 6-foot-5, 230-pound defensive end received six offers and that number should rise during the new season. To date Rutgers, Purdue, Indiana, Wisconsin, West Virginia and Duke have all offered and told Omar that they would like him to play for them during the 2003 season.
"It's been real crazy this past month. I lost track of all the schools that came in to see me, there were so many."

Omar is being recruited as a rush defensive end. Last season he had 55 tackles, six sacks, two fumble recoveries and three forced fumbles. He is very quick off the ball and has long arms to help keep big lineman away from him.
"I really am open to all schools at this time, but I have no favorite. There are a few schools that haven't offered yet that I am interested in as well. I'll most likely take all five visits before I decide on anything."
Savage also lists Virginia and Iowa beyond those teams that have offered.
