Four-star defensive end Darius Fullwood named an early top five at the end of 2013. Penn State, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, N.C. State and Kentucky all made the cut, but the Olney (Md.) Good Counsel standout admits things could change.
"There is no specific order right now," the 6-foot-5, 245-pound Fullwood said. "I think schools will move in and out of this list as time goes on. More schools will be coming to the campus in the spring and there will probably be more later in the offseason."
Fullwood broke down where each school stands with him right now.
Penn State - "I kind of figured that Coach (Bill) O'Brien would go back to the NFL sometime soon, so him leaving didn't really affect me too much. I'm looking more at the school."
Georgia Tech - "At Georgia Tech I get the same feel I do at home in Washington D.C. It's in the ACC, so I will still feel that home connection. There are a lot of players I know at Georgia Tech right now. That helps me to know that guys from the east coast and Maryland are doing well down there."
Virginia Tech - "I just love their defense. They are one of the best in the nation. I think I fit well in their schemes. The tradition down there is really good. I could see myself taking the team to a bigger bowl game."
N.C. State - "I like that they are closer to home, so it won't be a long drive for them to come out and see me play. I think that's another school that is rebuilding that I can help. They have some big commitments from guys like Kentavius Street and Deonte Holden, guys I know really well. They are game changers that can come in and change things around and I think I can help."
Kentucky - "I've been talking to Kobie (Walker) a lot," he said. "They are another team where I could be playing against the best competition. That would be a good fit for me. It's a rebuilding school in the SEC so that could be a good move for me."
Fullwood is looking to take some visits soon.
"I want to get out to a lot of junior days," Fullwood said. "I want to get up to Penn State. I also want to see Tennessee and Michigan State. Those are two schools I definitely want to take a look at. I don't have any planned visits right now, but need to take some because I want to make my decision sometime in May."
Fullwood was named to the Under Armour All-Combine second team.
