DE Fullwood finds a lot to like at GT

Four-star defensive end Darius Fullwood had visits scheduled to Georgia Tech and Alabama last weekend but the Olney (Md.) Good Counsel standout's busy weekend was cut short due to an illness. Luckily, Fullwood was still able to make it to Atlanta for the first time since the Yellow Jackets played Georgia last season.
"The coaches had me come up a little bit earlier before the other recruits got there to give me a tour," said the 6-foot-3, 238-pound Fullwood. "It was sort of the same tour that I got last time but it was more for my mother and grandmother. It was fun. My grandmother loved it and that's her favorite school because it is close to where she lives in Montgomery, Alabama. It's definitely a good fit for her. She really likes to come see me play so she might play a big part in my recruitment."

It was important to Fullwood to meet more of the coaches.
"I got a chance to meet a lot more of the staff this time compared to last time," he said. "Last time I was there some of the staff wasn't there. I got a chance to meet coach Pelton, the defensive line coach. He's a really cool, down to earth kind of guy. I liked him a lot and I think that's somebody I could adapt to. He coached a lot of good players, played at Auburn and coached Demarcus Ware up at Troy."
More than a few things really caught Fullwood's attention while visiting Georgia Tech.
"The family aspect there really stuck out to me," Fullwood said. "Everybody seemed really down to earth and gets along really well. The campus life is pretty cool and there's a lot of things to do. Even if you don't want to be out in the city you can stay on campus and there are a lot of things to do. I would have a good chance to come in a play pretty early. They have three senior defensive linemen that will graduate. A lot of people from my area are down here like Louis Young, Roderick Chungong and Darius Commissiong. I know they like it a lot."
Fullwood might be taking another visit this upcoming weekend.
"There are a lot of spring games next Saturday so I need to figure out which one I'm going to," he said. "After that I'll probably come out with my official top schools."
Schools like Alabama, Florida State, Miami, Penn State, Ohio State and many others have offered Fullwood.
