DE Ferrara waiting for more offers

Defensive end John Ferrara out of Staten Island (N.Y.) Monsignor Farrell still holds six offers from Duke, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Northwestern, Penn State and Rutgers. The 6-foot-4, 268-pounder is holding off on announcing official visits until he gets word back about a few other prospective offers.
"I've still got Boston College, Michigan, Stanford and Notre Dame showing a lot of interest," he said. "I just sent out tape from my first three games and I want to see what they'll think and hopefully they will offer. Right now, I'm still keeping everything open. I want to wait until the end of the season before making visits to see if these offers come in and change it up. I don't want to make a commitment to a school that I'm coming for a visit and then back out."

The three-star prospect hasn't taken any visits to schools this season and doesn't plan to as he's focusing on his senior year at Monsignor Farrell.
"We're off to a 2-2 season and we've had two tough losses against good opponents. We lost to St. Anthony's and then a heartbreaker to Holy Cross," he said. "We've got to keep plugging away and everything will be fine.
"This season I've been playing really hard and giving it my all out there. I'm trying to make more plays and I've been very happy with my performance so far. I've taken a lot of double teams, but I'm still getting to the ball, making a lot of plays and forcing teams to run away from me."
