DE Eliminates In-State School

Has Hampton (Va.) Phoebus defensive end/linebacker Xavier Adibi eliminated Virginia? Is he interested in Virginia Tech or does he want to do his own thing? He sets the record straight here.
"I have eliminated Virginia," said the 6-foot-3, 215-pounder. "I just didn't feel they were recruiting me that hard and I wasn't a fit there. As for Virginia Tech, they are certainly one of my top teams but I'm not just going to go there because my brother plays there."

Adibi's older brother, Nathanael, is a defensive end for Tech. His statements sound very similar to the ones made by Jonathan Lewis and Marcus Vick last year. Both players followed their brother and signed with Tech.
"I'm not sure what they said back then, but I feel that they made their decision based on what was best for them," he said. "That's what I'm going to do as well. I have some other teams that I really like."
Those teams are Maryland, Tennessee, NC State and Georgia. The Terps and Vols have offered and NC State is close.
"I think NC State will offer me very soon," he said. "I'm going to take a visit to Georgia soon and see what they're like as well."
Adibi said most teams are recruiting him as a linebacker but NC State wants him as a defensive end.
"I don't really have a preference," he said. "I'll play anywhere. I'll need some official visits to decide though."
