DE Cumbie making junior day rounds

Morris (Ill.) junior defensive end prospect Jamie Cumbie (6-foot-7, 255 pounds) was ranked as one of the pre-evaluation Rivals100 prospects from the Class of 2006.
"I saw that Rivals.com ranked me as one of the Top 100 football prospects in the country," Cumbie said. "It's really an honor to receive that type of recognition so early in the recruiting process. It really made my day when I saw that."

Cumbie is also equally flattered about having three early scholarship offers under his belt.
"I'm really excited about getting scholarship offers from Clemson, Illinois and Northwestern. I grew up in South Carolina and as a kid I always wanted to play for Clemson, yet I'm also really happy about my offers from both Illinois and Northwestern. Those schools also have a lot to offer."
Cumbie is also planning to check out a few college junior days, starting this weekend at Illinois.
"I'm going to head down to Illinois this Saturday for a junior day. I'm also heading to Northwestern the following Saturday, and then I'm going to Notre Dame on February 27th for another junior day event. I'm looking forward to just getting to see the different campuses and also getting to meet the coaches in person."
Does Cumbie have any early favorites?
"I'd be lying if I didn't say that Clemson wasn't an early favorite for me. I also like both Michigan and Notre Dame quite a bit at this point. I'm basically open to any school that is interested in me at this point. I'm getting steady mail from the schools I've already mentioned as well as mail from Iowa, Purdue, Wisconsin and Tennessee."
