DE Confused By Rumors

Chesapeake (Va.) Deep Creek defensive end Darryl Tapp isn't really sure how it happened.

"People have been asking me if I'm going to commit to Maryland or if I like them the best," said the 6-foot-2, 225-pounder. "I guess it said somewhere on the internet that Maryland is my favorite. I really liked my trip there and could see myself playing for Maryland, but to say they're my favorite is not right. They're the only official visit I've been on."

Tapp visited the Terps on Dec. 14 and came away very impressed. However, there is still one team to beat.

"I really prefer playing close to home and Virginia Tech has a great defense," he said. "I want to take all of my visits, but Tech is the team to beat."

Tapp will visit Florida on Jan. 11, Virginia Tech on Jan. 18 and Virginia on Jan. 25.

"I'll decide between those four," he said. "I can't really go wrong no matter who I choose."
