DC corner Davis names two officials

The No. 1 player in the District of Columbia, Vontae Davis out of Washington (D.C.) Dunbar, has yet to schedule an official visit. The 6-foot-0, 184-pound cornerback has two schools in mind for visits though.
"I'll probably go to North Carolina State and Virginia," he said. "UVA has been sending me mail and they've kept in touch. They also want me to come and see a game. Meanwhile, I think North Carolina State is real close to offering. I like the prestige at both of those schools and they are both good. They have good coaching staffs and produce athletes. The location is a big factor too because both schools are fairly close to my home."

This weekend the three-star prospect is taking an unofficial visit to Maryland for the Clemson game.
"I want to find out more about the school and see what the atmosphere is like," he said. "I also want to hear that they're still interested and let me know that they really want me to come to Maryland."
Davis played the first game of the season.
"We did pretty well as a team and scored the most points we ever have going to Ohio, but we lost 36-19," he said. "I did well. I had about seven tackles and scored a touchdown. There's still a lot I can correct and I feel I didn't play my best game."
