DC backer looking for interest

Washington (D.C.) Dunbar linebacker Kevin Burgess has held a verbal offer from Illinois for months. Is he any closer to a scholarship from the school and who else is showing interest?
"It's a verbal offer and I haven't heard from Coach Locksley in awhile," he said. "He took a new job so I don't know what's going to happen with them.

"I am hearing from a few I-AA's but that's about it right now. I haven't been getting a lot of interest."
The 6-foot-2, 203-pounder mentioned what he wants in a college?
"I want good academics, a good atmosphere and a nice school I enjoy going to," he stated. "I think I'm going to have to go out and sell myself to colleges. I don't think they are coming to me."
Burgess is coming off a solid senior year.
"Our team went 6-6 and lost in the playoffs," he said. "I played well. I had a shoulder injury in the middle of the season. I'm all better now.
"I played through it and finished with 98 tackles, 6.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, six recoveries and an interception."
