DC backer lands offer, claims leader

Washington (D.C.) Friendship Collegiate Academy linebacker Jermaine Carter landed his fourth offer recently. The 6-foot-1, 220-pounder discussed the scholarship and what he's doing next.
"I got an offer from Boston College, it's my fourth," he said. "It's just a blessing to get the offer.

"I know they have had two good linebackers the last couple years. I know they are good for linebacker and that really interests me."
Carter is receiving interest from a variety of other schools.
"Maryland, Rutgers, Penn State, Nebraska, Connecticut, Syracuse, Illinois, USC, West Virginia, Kansas State and Kansas are looking," he said. "Some of them are just sending me mail and want me to come out to their schools. They say they like me film and speak highly of me, they just want to meet my coach and stuff."
Despite a fair amount of interest, Carter has just one visit planned in the near future.
"I'm taking an unofficial visit to Colorado on June 6th," he said. "That's the only visit I have planned right now.
"I'm going there because my dad has a business trip to Colorado, so he doesn't have to pay for a ticket. He's going to be there, so we're just going to visit the school while he's out there."
Carter added that he is very high on the Buffs at this stage.
"Right now I'm liking Colorado," he said. "I speak with them the most and the reason I'm high on them is more the love. It just feels good to be wanted."
