Kendall Sawyer from Lehigh Acres (Fla.) East Lee County attended the Florida State camp earlier in the week and he enjoyed his time in Tallahassee.
Sawyer got a chance to work with 'Noles secondary coach Jeremy Pruitt up-close and he liked what he saw.
"It was hot out there and he wouldn't let me rest," joked Sawyer. "But he took me off the side afterwards and told me what's up."
He already holds a FSU offer and the Seminoles are listed among his list of top schools following his camp experience.
The three-star cornerback said, "West Virginia, Ole Miss, Miami, FSU, USF, and UCF are all standing out."
He cited proximity for the reason his choices are in state heavy. Sawyer is able to get around the state easier allowing him to visit FSU, Miami, UCF, and USF more than anyone else. For that reason he said he will likely take official visits to Ole Miss and West Virginia.
Miami was his childhood favorite. Why the 'Canes? "Because they had a lot of good players go to the NFL," noted Sawyer.
On tape, Sawyer lines up all over the field yet most schools want him at cornerback. He prefers defensive back at the next level too.
Depth chart will be a factor in his recruitment. "When I can get on the field early, I don't want to be waiting," stated the ball-hawking defender.
As a junior he was a third team Class 5A All-State team selection. The East Lee County prospect plans on making his decision at the end of the season.
