DB Owens makes the switch

Three-star cornerback Reggie Owens made a big switch last week. The 6-foot-0, 188-pounder decommitted from Duke and is now headed to Old Dominion.
"I think it's a home sweet home type of deal for him, personally and then player wise, it's a good decision for him," Ocean Lakes head coach Chris Scott said. "They've (ODU) been in here getting a lot of our guys and did a great job taking care of our guys.

"We have a great relationship there and it sounds like they feel Reggie is perhaps their No. 1 signee in all of their classes."
Scott went further about Owens pick for the Monarchs.
"I think the coaching staff and what they've proven to do, they know how to work for the kids and it's a great situation there," he said. "You know, they have great facilities and it's a very exciting environment, it's all those things."
Scott doesn't doubt Old Dominion got a steal in Owens.
"I think they are getting an ACC type of corner with great speed," he said. "He's a great young man on and off the field. He's someone that is ready to come in there and compete for playing time right away. He played early on at Ocean Lakes and he does everything he can.
"I'm happy for him and his family all the way around."
