Shutang Mungwa, a junior safety from Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic, has one offer and three favorites.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound safety from the Garden State received his first offer on March 6, and you can bet that more will be coming his way before the end of the recruiting process.
"I was just recently offered by Syracuse," Mungwa recalled. "I haven't talked to them but I got the letter in the mail. I sent them my highlight tape
"They had been recruiting me since the start of my junior year and I had been to their junior day, so I think it was an accumulation of all those things.
"I was really impressed by their coaching staff when I visited. A lot of them had coached in the NFL or played in the NFL. Their weight room and weight training program were the best that I've seen."
That all sounds very good for the Orange. Has Mungwa thought about committing, even though it's still very early?
"I'm definitely going to wait it out a while," he said. "I'm getting some looks from Big East schools like Rutgers and a little bit from West Virginia. Also, Boston College and UConn. I'm just waiting to see what happens."
Mungwa plans to go to Pitt for their spring game and he hopes to attend the same event at Rutgers. He may make it to Boston College soon, too.
He also admitted to having a few early leaders.
"I can tell you my top three (are) Boston College, Rutgers and Syracuse is no particular order," he said.
