DB McCollum scheduling trips

North Miami (Fla.) defensive back Troy McCollum is in the process of setting up official visits following his de-commitment from Florida International.
The three-star prospect was disappointed in the firing of Mario Cristobal and decided to open things back up when he heard the news.

McCollum stated, "Right now everything is crazy, man. I'm trying to set up visits. All the coaches are changing jobs. I'm trying to stay humble and figure things out."
The teams that are standing out are Hawaii, Indiana, USF, and Utah State.
Distance will not be a factor for the Miami native. He is looking for the best fit and coaching stability.
"I'm going to visit Indiana on January 11. I want to check out the atmosphere and the social life. Coach (Brandon) Shelby is the cornerbacks coach, and he is a good guy, " remarked McCollum.
Hawaii will likely get his second official visit and he is working out the details. USF is the other school that rounds out his top three. He has been in contact with Larry Scott and he should know more about an official and where he stands after the dead period.
He liked what Utah State had to offer, but he doesn't know his status after the recent departure of Gary Andersen to Wisconsin.
Another school that is keeping tabs on the cover corner is TCU. He has been in contact with coach (Randy) Shannon, but McCollum pointed out "rumors are swirling that Shannon may be on his way to USF."
He has plans to make his decision on National Signing Day.
