DB Hicks favors in-state schools

Culpeper (Va.) Culpeper County defensive back Kent Hicks is one of the top players in the state of Virginia this year. He has offers from all of his favorites, but do one or two stand out?
"Right now my favorites are Maryland, Virginia, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Boston College and Miami," said the 6-foot-2, 190-pounder. "I have offers from all of them."

Hicks, who has a busy work schedule, hasn't been able to visit anywhere this summer. However, he was at Virginia Tech for NIKE Camp.
"I liked it there, it was nice," he said. "I had a good time there."
Hicks doesn't want to name any leaders at this point, but he did admit that the in-state schools have a slight edge.
"A little bit of an edge," he said. "It's always nice to think about playing close to home, but that won't be the final factor. I want to decide on a school for academics, atmosphere and how I get along with the players and coaches."
As a junior, Hicks had 10 interceptions and more than 100 tackles. He'll take official visits before deciding anything.
"I'll probably take all five," he said. "Right now I'm not sure where they'd be to, but probably to the out-of-state schools I like at least."
