DB Gilbert likes two

Mark Gilbert of Fayetteville (N.C.) Terry Sanford recently visited North Carolina. The junior cornerback went there to watch the Tar Heels play Georgia Tech.
"It was good," said the 6-foot-2, 170-pound Gilbert. "I liked the environment there and their fans. It was a sold out game, so they have some diehard fans down there. It was a great game and it came down to the wire. They're building a great program. You can tell that they have a lot of talent down there."

Gilbert does not have any favorite schools right now but he does like Duke and Boston College.
"I like Duke's coaching staff and their style of play," he said. "Their players played like they had something to prove and that is how I play. I feel like I am an underrated player, so I go out and play my hardest. I see that in their program.
"The Boston College coach told me that they are an under the radar team too," said Gilbert. "They have played in big games and have come up short a couple of times. They're building a very good program down there and they will be a very good team in the future."
Gilbert is also considering East Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia Tech and Florida State.
Boston College was the latest school to offer Gilbert a scholarship. He might be receiving a scholarship offer from Georgia Southern and Old Dominion soon.
"I know that this is Georgia Southern's first year in Division I and that they went down to the wire with N.C. State and Georgia Tech," he said. "They only lost to N.C. State by one point and they only lost to Georgia Tech by four points. They have a lot of talent down there and it is a bunch of under the radar talent.
"I have talked to an Old Dominion coach once," Gilbert said. "He also said that they are new in Division I. He tried to sell me on the location of the school and they have new facilities down there."
Gilbert does not plan on visiting any more schools until at least the winter.
