Chicago (Ill.) Brother Rice junior defensive back prospect Joe Gibson (6-foot-2, 178 pounds) has been drawing plenty of football recruiting interest this spring.
"I've been getting quite a bit of hand-written mail," Gibson said. "I also was able to check out spring practices earlier this spring at Notre Dame and Northern Illinois. I would have liked to get out to more schools but I'm playing baseball this spring."
Gibson talked about his latest suitors.
"The coaches from Minnesota and a few other coaches are scheduled to be in school this week. I've been getting hand-written mail from NIU, Air Force, Northwestern, Minnesota, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Boston College and Ball State. I really don't have any favorites at this point, I'm just looking to see who's interested at this point of the process."
Gibson is also hoping to hit the road for a handful of camps this summer.
"I'm also playing baseball again this summer, so it all depends on my schedule when it comes to any college camps. I'm hoping that I'll be able to fit in at least a handful of one-day camps this summer."
