Jenkins, a 6-foot-0, 185-pound cornerback lists three favorites and was an all-area and all-county selection as junior after posting 65 tackles and 8 interceptions.

“Ohio State, Virginia Tech and Rutgers are my top three schools right now,” explained Jenkins. “Rutgers is the school recruiting me the hardest and I’m getting a lot of interest from North Carolina State, Boston College, West Virginia, Virginia, Purdue, and Vanderbilt.”
What does Jenkins like about his three favorites?
“Starting with Rutgers, I like that it’s in my hometown obviously,” admitted Jenkins. “Coach Schiano is starting to build something good here, and it would be nice to be a part of that.”
But, there are a few factors holding Jenkins back from pulling the trigger for the Scarlet Knights.
“Unfortunately, the community here doesn’t support the program like they do at Ohio State and Virginia Tech,” expressed Jenkins. “While they’re both farther away, they’re both great schools for preparing you to make the jump to the NFL one day. I’ve built a good relationship with the coaches at both schools and really like the reputation of both programs.
Jenkins is an excellent defender in the secondary that matches up very well in tight man to man coverage. His body strength and his footwork are the two areas of his game that he cited as needing improvement.
What will ultimately be the deciding factors for Malcolm?
“It will come down to which coaching staff I feel I have the best relationship with,” said Jenkins. “The atmosphere of the community and how I’m treated outside of being a student athlete will also hold bearing on my decision.
Jenkins has camped at all three of his favorites and hopes to make a decision before the season starts.
