Virginia Tech is reloading with defensive backs and DJ Crossen is one of the major pieces to the puzzle. The Greensboro (N.C.) Dudley star cornerback can’t wait to get to work in Blacksburg.

IN HIS OWN WORDS…

“It seems like I have an opportunity to play early and I'm just ready to get there so I can prepare myself for the college life, not only with the athletics but also the academics,” Crossen said. “I think we can do something special in the next couple years at Virginia Tech. We can add on a lot of talent and explosiveness to the people they already have.

“We can shock the world and surprise a lot of people,” he said. “There were only a couple of big games against top-tier teams that we could've won and been a top ranked team. We’re just going to do our best to try to get them over the hump.

“I never really got to the chance to play with my cousin Alan Tisdale or my friend Tre Turner,” said Crossen. “Alan and I roomed together at the Shrine Bowl. I'm scheduled the room was Tre at Virginia Tech.”

RIVALS’ REACTION...

Justin Fuente has changed the culture at Virginia Tech and it is clearly noticeable on the field. On the recruiting trail things are looking up as well. Defensive coordinator Bud Foster is getting plenty of defensive backs to work with and Crossen brings a lot to the table. The Hokies have done a great job recruiting in North Carolina and Crossen has really helped by recruiting a number of current commits.
