DB Carter lands first offer

Junior safety Ryan Carter of Loganville (Ga.) Grayson was in his team's lockerroom Wednesday when some very good news arrived.
"My coach came in and told me East Carolina offered," Carter told Rivals.com.

For the 5-feet-11, 175-pound Carter, a key member of Grayson's 2011 state championship team, that is offer No. 1.
"It's such a relief," Carter said. "I've been waiting for it for awhile. I was excited. I'm going to try and work hard to see if I can get some more. All my teammates were happy for me."
East Carolina had recently visited Grayson, according to Carter.
"I know a little bit about them," he said. "One of our former players from two years ago signed there, [defensive tackle] Terry Williams. He's there now. I've seen them play a couple times. It's a nice program. I've got to talk to them a little bit more, but I will take a visit there."
Carter said other programs also are showing interest. Indiana has been to his school, and he has spoken with a Utah State coach over the phone.
"Indiana was telling me to keep on working," Carter said. "They said they liked my stuff. He's going to come by again soon to check me out. Utah State was just talking to me and asking me different questions about how I'm doing, and stuff like my weight and all that. They told me they're interested in me."
