DB Baines to visit ECU

East Carolina is the only school that has extended a scholarship offer to New Jersey defensive back Ronald Baines so far, and the 6-foot, 179-pound prospect is now planning a trip to Greenville, N.C.
The Pirates have a new coaching staff and are looking for prospects that fit their system to fill out their roster, and they believe Baines, a versatile defensive back from Vorhees (N.J.) Eastern fits the mold of what they are looking for.

"I'm actually going to visit East Carolina in the next couple of weeks," Baines explained. "I was also planning on going to Old Dominion and JMU."
In addition to those schools Baines has been hearing from Penn State, South Florida, Bucknell and Towson.
East Carolina, though, has helped their cause greatly by offering a scholarship. That's one reason Baines is so excited about visiting the school and seeing what they have to offer.
"I've been talking to them (the ECU coaching staff) and we actually have a pretty good relationship. We talk like once a week, just to catch up and talk about everything," he said.
"I think I'm going to wait it out and see what else comes but I like the school a lot. They've got a new head coach and he wants a strong recruiting class coming in this year. I like him and their staff, and they really want to win."
Baines has the potential to play either cornerback or safety in college.
