DB Baines enjoys East Carolina

Earlier in the recruiting process East Carolina became the first school to offer a scholarship to New Jersey cornerback Ronald Baines.
The 6-foot, 179-pound corner from Vorhees (N.J.) Eastern recently visited the Conference USA school and had a great time checking everything out. Though he isn't ready to make a decision he does think very highly of the Pirates.

"I took a visit (to East Carolina) on (July) 26th," he said. "I was there from Saturday 'til Sunday.
"I did everything. I got to take a look at the town. I got to talk to some of the players and see the people in the town. I got to eat at some restaurants. I saw a lot of their facilities and their upcoming facilities. Everything was real close and I liked that.
"The airport was five minutes from the school and hotels were five minutes from the school. It was actually a lot better than I expected. I had never actually visited East Carolina and I didn't really know where it was. Greenville is just a nice town. I like it. I didn't know what to expect.
"It's more country (than New Jersey) but the world's different and you've got to adapt to different things. It was nice.
"The coaches are great. They're a family oriented team and they'll treat you like you're their son. You can hang out with them whenever. They just want the best for you. They're setting a path for you and you just have to follow it."
Baines said he has also been in contact with Bowling Green, New Mexico, Old Dominion and Bucknell lately. He said he wants to take more visits as well.
"I'm not just gonna lock down on East Carolina right now. I'm gonna keep looking," he said. "I'm probably gonna wait until the fall, at least a little bit into the season, probably."
