Daytona prospect getting attention

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Seabreeze High defensive back prospect Jerome Swinton has blocked nine kicks during the past two seasons. His special teams prowess, along with tackling tenacity and athleticism, has him on the radar of several Division I-A programs.
Auburn, South Carolina, Florida and LSU are among the programs that have expressed interest in the 5-foot-9, 160-pounder, who is still waiting on his first scholarship offer.

"I'm looking for somewhere good for me that has a family atmosphere," he said. "I just want to go someplace good."
Swinton will be a four-year starter after this coming season. He totaled 53 tackles, broke up eight passes and forced three fumbles as a junior. For his junior year accolades, Swinton was All-Volusia County selection by the Orlando Sentinel
"I have talent and I make big plays," he said. "I just go out and have fun and love the sport."
Swinton added that he feels he projects best as a cornerback or running back.
He credits the program at Seabreeze High, led by head coach Marc Beach with helping him develop into a potential Division I-A prospect.
"It's a great program," he said. "I love being here. It's the best program. I really like coach Beach."
