Dawkins impressed by SEC trips

Brandon Dawkins recently took unofficial visits to two SEC programs and the 2014 quarterback from Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian was impressed by both.
Alabama and Tennessee were the stops for the 6-foot-3, 210-pound prospect who has already landed offers from Notre Dame and Utah.

Dawkins had already been to Tuscaloosa once for Alabama's camp and he liked his second trip just as much.
"The only thing that was a little disappointing was that coach (Nick) Saban wasn't out there, I didn't get to meet coach Saban but I met the offensive coordinator and some other coaches," Dawkins said.
"I've been to Alabama, I went to their camp my freshman year, and when I went this time I got a more in-depth feel for the place. I've seen most of their school and now I saw more of their weight lifting building, their nutrition stuff and I learned more about all the people that have been there."
Dawkins, who threw for about 3,000 yards and 30 touchdowns in his sophomore season, also liked his trip to Tennessee a lot and he said he was impressed with a lot the Volunteers have to offer.
"Tennessee is where I went first," Dawkins said. "It was really cool. I got to meet all the coaches and I really liked the campus. They're having a lot of renovations and everything is going to turn out really well.
"One of the things I was most impressed with was the education at the school, how they handle the student-athletes with tutoring and how they help players get through their classes. It was really good to see that."
