Dawkins has a leader

Louisville (Ky.) Trinity is coming off a national championship in the 2011 season, and opens their 2012 season Friday night with a big game against Brentwood (Tenn.) Academy. Trinity running back Dalyn Dawkins' focus is on the opener, and not on his recruiting process.
"Last year is kind of behind us," Dawkins said. "We're looking for a win against a good team like Brentwood. We are definitely ready for Friday to get here."
The 5-foot-9, 175-pound Dawkins lists offers from Cincinnati, Purdue, Western Kentucky, Colorado State and Illinois. He made just one campus visit this summer.
"I didn't do any camps, but I visited Cincinnati and loved it," Dawkins said. "When I went up there, I loved the coaching staff and they were crazy about me. They really showed that they wanted me to go there and be a part of their program.
"They are still No. 1 on my list and I think Illinois is second, Colorado State third and Purdue fourth."
Dawkins plans to wait until after his season is complete to take official visits, but he will look to make unofficial visits for games this fall.
"For sure I am going to a game at Cincinnati," Dawkins said. "If any other games pop up, I may go to one of those as well."
Dawkins rushed for 1,900 yards and 32 touchdowns in Trinity's 15-0 national title season of 2011. He is ranked as the No. 8 prospect in the state of Kentucky for the 2013 class.
