Dawkins back from Oklahoma State

Brandon Dawkins learned this weekend that Stillwater, Okla., is a lot different than the Los Angeles suburbs but Oklahoma State showed him a good time and the Cowboys definitely impressed the four-star quarterback.
"It's a little bit of a change coming from the LA area," Dawkins said.

"There isn't as much to do out there but there are great people, great coaches and the facilities are awesome. You're not going to leave campus too much so as long as the facilities are nice and the coach is going to be there, that's great. They know what they're doing."
The Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian quarterback absolutely loved the facilities - surprised they were so nice - and got along well with the coaching staff, two positives as Oklahoma State continues to recruit him.
No offer on the visit but Dawkins said a coach from Oklahoma State is expected to come out to watch Oaks Christian's spring practice on May 7 and he will be evaluated at that time.
"It actually went a lot better than I expected," Dawkins said. "I thought it was going to be average facilities but I can compare the facilities at that school close to Alabama and most SEC schools. They were top of the line. Compared to USC, their weight room and their facilities are top-notch and that surprised me.
"I got to talk with the head coach and the quarterbacks coach and the quarterbacks coach is a really cool guy and he's really laid back and he knows what he's talking about. I got to see him in action at the spring game so all in all it was a great trip."
So far, Notre Dame, Utah and NC State have offered Dawkins, rated as the sixth-best dual-threat quarterback and No. 134 in the 2014 class by Rivals.com. He looked good recently at the Rivals Camp in Phoenix. USF is expected at Oaks Christian on Monday to watch Dawkins throw.
As for Oklahoma State, the four-star is excited about the possibilities especially once its coaches see him spin it in person.
"They said I'm very high on their list and they could see me fitting in their offense perfectly," Dawkins said. "They just want to come out and see me. Their coach is coming out May 7 to see me."
