Dawgs offer Jefferson

College Park (Ga.) Banneker junior Larry Jefferson always figured the Georgia Bulldogs would extend him a scholarship offer, he just didn't know when.
On Tuesday, it finally happened.

"I've kind of been waiting on them," said the 6-foot-5, 218-pounder, who plays defensive end and tight end in high school. "I don't know [what the holdup was]. But it feels good, you know."
For Jefferson, his latest offer is his sixth. The Bulldogs join Auburn, Louisville, North Carolina, Virginia Tech and Western Kentucky. Louisville's offer came only one day before Georgia's did. Besides those schools, he is hearing from a number of programs, including Cal, which Jefferson hopes to visit this summer.
"Georgia is a school I like," Jefferson said. "But right now, I like everybody about the same. I've been to Georgia a couple of times and I like everything about it. The campus. The facilities. The coaching staff. Everything."
Some schools (North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Western Kentucky) want Jefferson to play defensive end. Others (Auburn, Louisville) want him at tight end.
And then there's Georgia.
"They want me to play outside linebacker," Jefferson said.
Does it matter which position he's at in college?
"No," Jefferson said. "I don't care."
