Davis turning attention back to recruiting

Tampa (Fla.) Jefferson senior wide receiver Andre Davis was a key component of the offensive machine that the Dragons were in 2010. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound wideout racked up over 1,000 yards on the season capped off by a 10-yard touchdown reception in the 44-34 Class 3A State Championship victory.
"The hard work paid off," Davis said of winning a title.

With a state championship now under his belt, the talented wide receiver will turn his focus to figuring out where he will take his talents to on the next level.
"I am going to start back up on Monday with recruiting," Davis said. "I am going to talk to coaches and all of that."
At this point, out of his more than 20 offers Davis said that everyone is on even footing.
"I don't have a top right now," Davis said. "I am open to everybody."
He knows of one possible visit destination in late January.
"I am likely going to Rutgers," Davis said. "That is the only one I know of right now. I am probably going up on the 21st, I think that is when it is set up for. I think me and Ramik (Wilson) are both going up there together."
Davis said he has developed a good relationship with a pair of coaches on the Scarlet Knight's staff.
"I am dealing with Coach (Chris) Hewitt there," Davis said. "I have been talking to him and Coach (P.J.) Fleck. They are both real good guys, easy to talk to. They just tell me they want me up there."
He has one other possible visit destination in mind, with a likely date of January 14th on the agenda.
"I think I will also probably visit Texas Tech as well," Davis said. "Coach (Chad) Scott is recruiting me for them. He is a real nice guy. He is actually from Plant City (Fla.). He is real nice and keeps it down to earth."
When the three-star hits the road, he knows what he is looking for in prospective colleges.
"I want to find a place where I can play early," Davis said. "I want to like the coaches and find my major, which is business management."
