Davis to visit ACC schools

Easter break starts Friday at Cincinnati (Ohio) St. Xavier, and three-star tight end Noah Davis has plans to see college campuses during his week off.
"I'm not trying to miss any school, so I am taking a couple (visits) over spring break," Davis said. "I am going to Wake Forest and Boston College, both for a couple days. They are both East Coast (schools) and I can zip up and down to them relatively quickly."

The visit to Boston College is particularly noteworthy. A half dozen St. Xavier prospects have signed with the Eagles in the last 12 years, most notably current NFL linebacker Luke Kuechly. The connection between the two institutions is strong, and Davis is excited to experience the ACC program for himself.
"St. X is one of the better (high) schools around, and Boston College is one of the better BCS schools in the nation," Davis said. "I think that is why there is a strong connection between St. X and Boston College."
Assistant coach Justin Frye is Davis' primary contact at Boston College, and he has an itinerary planned for the Cincinnati prospect.
"I think I am going to stay the night with the tight end there so I really get the full feel of what it is like to be a student-athlete there," Davis said. "I am going to meet with the full coaching staff as well and then take a tour of the campus itself to see how it is."
Davis chose Wake Forest as the other school to visit during his week off from school for many of the same reasons he wants to see Boston College.
"Once again, (Wake Forest) is strong academically," Davis said. "I am mainly going down there to check it out and see what it is like."
The trips to Boston College and Wake Forest will be followed later in April with a trip to a Big Ten program that has yet to offer.
"Later in April I am heading up to Michigan State for their spring game," Davis said. "I am talking to Coach (Jim) Bollman and Coach (Harlon) Barnett quite a lot. I went up late November for one of their elite days just to get a feel for it, and I liked it a lot."
Davis is up to 15 scholarship offers, with Arkansas being the most recent to come through. He has yet to identify any favorites.
"I kind of want to take a few more visits and see what it is like," Davis said. "I haven't taken any real visits yet; I've just been to a few games. I am really not sure how long I'll take it (out). It might be before the season, it might be after the season. I'm just not sure yet."
The 6-foot-5, 235-pound Davis finished his junior season with 20 catches for 275 yards and four touchdowns.
