Davis to take three trips

Neptune, N.J. junior running back Charles Davis has been unwinding over the past month or so since a visit to Rutgers, but the recruiting process is about to heat up again.
The talented back spoke with Rivals.com and broke down his plans for the coming weeks. He will be on the road quite a bit over the next month.

"Rutgers is this weekend," Davis began. "That's going to be a junior day and I'll be there for that.
"Maryland is going to be next weekend. They just keep insisting on me going down there because they want me to see the campus.
"I'm going to go to Pitt, too, but I don't have a date set yet. That's just a visit coach (Dave) Wannstedt wants me to make so I can meet him in person. We're going to schedule that soon."
Rutgers is the only school that has offered, but Davis would probably have good reason to believe Maryland and Pitt might be thinking about extending scholarships as well.
In addition to those schools, three others are showing a high level of interest.
"Oregon, Duke and Boston College are very interested, too. Those and the others are the most interested. I would say everybody else is just somewhat interested.
"Duke wanted me to come down to their junior day and see the campus ... stuff like that. Besides New Jersey, North Carolina is a state that I would love to go and play in. North Carolina is interested but not as highly interested as Duke. I would love to play in that state, though. Also, I have family in Maryland, so I could go play there."
This fall Davis averaged 12 yards per carry and scored 10 touchdowns on just 48 carries. With a new coach to be named at Neptune before too long, it's a safe bet that Davis will be getting more touches during his senior year.
