Davis ready to leave blizzard behind

Four-star receiver Drew Davis of Denver (Colo.) Montbello has agreed to do a diary for Rivals.com about his experiences leading up to and following the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl. The game will be played at 7 p.m. EST on Jan. 4 and broadcast live on ESPNU. Players report to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on Saturday, Dec. 30, and Davis will share his thoughts with Rivals.com national recruiting editor Jeremy Crabtree.
I can't wait to get to Fort Lauderdale.

I've been stuck inside most of this week because of the blizzard last week. I hear it might snow again really bad, and I'm hoping it clears up a little bit before Saturday, so I can get down there to Florida where it's warm and sunny. I can't wait to get out of here and get down there.
I'm kind of worried about getting out. It really stinks being inside, but it's also been a good thing because it has allowed me a chance to learn the plays in the playbook we got from coach (John) Outlaw.
I had been working and practicing with my coaches, but since the blizzard I haven't been able to get outside much. I've been working on my strength, doing curls and lifting as much as I can. But keeping my strength up and focusing on the plays – that's the most important part.
The offense is a lot different than what we ran last year, so I've been working hard on learning the plays.
We're going to throw the ball around quite a bit. It's a spread offense, and it's a no-huddle attack. It's something I want to be in, in order to get ready for next year. The offense is great, and we're going to put up a lot of points. I think it fits me personally really well. Looking at the roster, we have a lot of really good quarterbacks and receivers, so we should be able to run the offense like it should be run.
It's also quite a bit like what we're going to be running up at Oregon, so I'm excited about that part, too.
Looking at the roster, I saw there are like five guys going to Oregon on the West. I'm real excited to get to know them and see why they picked Oregon. I'm just excited to play with them and get to know some other great players. It's going to be fun to work hard with other good receivers and go up against some really good defensive backs. It'll be a challenge, but I'll be ready for it.
It'll be a great experience. I can't wait to get to Fort Lauderdale and have some fun. I just hope I'm not stuck here in the snow.
