Davis puts commtiment plans on hold

It appeared just weeks ago that Sweeny, Texas outside linebacker Wendel Davis was ready to make his decision on a commitment. Now, that plan seems to have changed.
Though the 6-foot-1, 197-pound, No. 34 rated outside linebacker prospect has been favoring Arizona and seemed to be extremely close to committing to the Pac-10 school, things have been pushed back.

"It's just the fact that UTEP has come in now and is really coming on me hard," Davis said. "They've been calling me a lot. That's a school in-state and Arizona is so far away. I mean location isn't a huge deal to me, but it would be nice to stay in Texas."
Davis admits that he is very much up in the air about favorites with Arizona and UTEP holding on to a small lead over others such as Oklahoma State, Houston, SMU, and Tulsa.
Next on the list is for the No. 74 rated prospect in Texas to make some trips.
"I haven't set anything up yet, but I've been thinking about them and stuff," Davis said. "Arizona and UTEP are obviously for sure. Then there is a chance of Houston. From there, I'm not sure."
As for a decision, he doesn't look to be close to that date any longer.
