Davis picks Pitt

Canton (Ohio) McKinley linebacker Jamal Davis ended last week with an offer from Pittsburgh. He ended this week by making a commitment to the Panthers.
The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Davis, a three-star linebacker, had originally planned to take his official visit to Pitt the weekend of Jan. 24, but after defensive coordinator Matt House extended an offer last Friday Davis moved his official visit up a week. Less than a day into that visit, Davis made the call to commit to the Panthers.

"[I] love everything from the facilities to the players to the coaches," Davis said. "It just feels like home here, and [I] feel like I can make an impact here."
Davis had originally planned to officially visit Marshall this weekend, and he had planned a Jan. 31 official visit to Illinois. Close to a dozen schools offered Davis during the course of his recruitment, but it was the most recent one that prompted a commitment.
Pittsburgh has been recruiting Davis since his junior season. He could help the Panthers out anywhere throughout their linebacker corps because he has the ability to play inside or outside.
Davis is the fourth commitment for Pitt out of the state of Ohio in the 2014 class, joining quarterback Adam Bertke, cornerback Phillipie Motley and defensive end Shane Roy.
