Rutgers is the only school to offer Charles Davis so far, but plenty of other schools are tracking his progress.
Davis told Rivals.com recently that several new schools are starting to recruit him more heavily, but that hasn't translated into new offers yet.
"Now I'm talking to the coaches from Illinois and Iowa at least once a week," Davis explained. "They've picked it up. Coach (Greg) Schiano has come to a couple of my practices. Also, I've heard from Louisville.
"Usually I make all my phone calls on Monday. I'll probably end up calling Louisville, the Illinois coach and I'll call down to Duke."
Rutgers put an early offer out there to Davis, so they're high on the junior running back's potential.
"I've kept in touch with coach Schiano," he said. "I think they've got a new recruiting coach but I can't remember his name. Every coach on their staff writes me a personalized letter at least once a week, so it's tough trying to keep up with all of the coaches."
Davis said he plans on waiting until the first couple of weeks of his senior season before he narrows things down.
He is confident that more offers will be coming, especially once his academic picture becomes more clear.
"Really, a lot of schools are just waiting to see my grades," he said. "My grades are good but I had a rough time my freshman year. My core grade is not where it should be, but I made honor roll last (grading period). Once I meet the mark I need a lot of schools should come in."
