Davis is a Texas WR to watch

Lufkin, Texas receiver James Davis along with several other juniors are getting plenty of attention early on in the recruiting process.
The 6-foot-2, 188-pounder hasn't picked up his first offer, but earning second-team all-district honors and having a variety of position experience has helped recruiting get started. Oklahoma State, Houston, Kansas, Nebraska, and Texas A&M are all schools showing Davis early interest.

"Well, from the letters I've been getting, I like Oklahoma State a lot," Davis said. "I've just looked into their program and it just seems like a good fit. I don't really know for sure yet, but I kind of have them on top."
Davis says that he transitioned between receiver and quarterback at Lufkin.
"I went to quarterback when our starter went down with a broken finger," Davis said. "I moved back to receiver this past year."
"They've got me playing inside receiver this year, so I've got some stuff to learn. Dez Bryant has taught me some things. I just got off the field with him a little while ago. He's teaching me the basic things with route running and catching."
Davis says that he had plans of taking a junior day visit to Oklahoma State, but couldn't make it. He doesn't have any other visit plans.
