Davis being watched by many
Fort Worth (Texas) Dunbar athlete D.J. Davis has received a lot of attention this spring from college coaches.
“There have been a lot of schools by this spring to talk to my coach and watch us practice,” the 5-foot-11, 182-pound Davis said. “Texas A&M, Michigan and Notre Dame all were there for a practice at one time or another. Several schools have called too. There have been quite a few schools call to visit with me. All of the schools that have offered and the ones that have talked about offering me have called."

Davis’ offer list has grown this month too.
“Several have officially offered this month,” he said. “They had said they would offer, or were thinking about it; that type of thing. But several went ahead and did it. Texas A&M, Colorado, LSU, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and Missouri are offers I have on paper. There are some schools that have talked about offering like Michigan, Notre Dame, Florida and North Carolina have all said they would be offering.”
Davis has played quarterback in the past, but doesn’t plan on playing that position in college.
“I’m looking more at safety. That’s the spot I worked on the most when I did spring drills. I’m not opposed to quarterback, I just think safety would work out a little better.”
Davis doesn’t expect an early decision on where to go to school.
“I’m going to look hard at the schools and take my visits. I don’t want to rush into a decision. I want to keep all of the options I can and see how things work out.”
