The time is coming for Marlon Davidson, and it's coming rather quickly.

On Thursday, the five-star defensive end announced that he will reveal the school of his choice on Sept. 4. Davidson is the No. 3 overall player in the country and has been in the discussion for the top spot in the past. Alabama and Auburn are heavily in the mix to land his commitment. Georgia, Florida State, LSU and others are also involved in some fashion. That said, it seems the in-state schools are the most likely landing spots.
To all coaches and reporter the time for me is running out I'm ready to make my commitment September 4 👏🏈👌🏻— Marlon Davidson (@marlondavidson7) August 13, 2015
WHAT'S NEXT?: What's next? Well, a commitment announcement. It's unclear whether or not Davidson will take many official visits after making his intentions known on Sept. 4, but the defensive end will likely address that question at the time of his announcement.
IN HIS WORDS: "I wanted them to get the feel for Auburn," Davidson after bringing his aunt, cusin and brother on his last visit to Auburn's campus. "… They loved it. Other than the heat, it was great."
RIVALS' REACTION: If you're betting on the college decisions of high school students, seek help. After that, go ahead and wager some cash on Auburn here. Alabama certainly has a chance of landing Davidson prospect, but Davidson has family ties to Auburn and an extremely strong relationship with the Tigers' coaching staff. The fact that Davidson's older brother currently works for the Auburn football program certainly doesn't hurt the Tigers' chances.
