Dash breaking onto the scene

In the children's movie "The Incredibles," Dash is the superhero son of the main character whose super power is light speed quickness.
A football version of Dash resides in Houston's Ft. Bend Kempner High School. Jamar Rodriguez (5-foot-7, 150 pounds) is a unique athlete with speed, tenacity and toughness.

The Houston's Gatorade Special Teams Player of the Year as a junior enters his senior season with hopes of overcoming his size to earn a Division I scholarship.
Like Dash, Rodriguez defies gravity and physics. At defensive back, he uses his 38.5-inch vertical jump to snare interceptions slap away pass attempts. His balance and vision make him untouchable returning kicks, which produced six return touchdowns. His 4.4 40-yard dash makes him a break away threat at running back.
In person and on film, the three-year starter shows up with his play making skills and bouncy style of play. His acrobatic antics may have something to do with the fact that he is also an accomplished gymnast.
"Playing college ball has been a dream since my freshman year," Rodriguez said. "I know I'll do it."
Those taking notice of the academically eligible and Who's Who nominee include Iowa State, North Texas, SMU, Louisiana-Lafayette and North Dakota State.
He has participated in the Nike Camps in Fort Worth and Houston and will be attending the Texas, Texas A&M, Houston, Oklahoma State and UTEP one-day camps this summer.
"I really love LSU, Kansas State, Texas A&M, Oklahoma and Texas," he said. "If the right school offered me, I would definitely commit early."
In a flash, Dash.
